Christian Care Communities is seeking a full-time DON for our Corbin, Kentucky campus.

Directs the operations of the Nursing Services Department in compliance with all applicable directives including, but not limited to, all current and thereafter amended federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations required under this position. Conducts all job responsibilities in compliance with all policies and procedures of Christian Care Communities and within the parameters of the organizations core values and beliefs as described in the Employee Handbook.

Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, maintains and controls the Nursing Department programs, personnel, and activities.

Manages Nursing Department personnel functions within delegated authority and in compliance with all Organizational policies and procedures and all applicable laws. Responsibilities include departmental operations, work standardization, recruitment, hiring, staff development and training, appraising, rewarding and disciplining employees, and conflict and problem resolution.

Assures that an adequate number of appropriately trained professional auxiliary Nursing Services personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the residents and the department.

Reviews deficiencies, complaints, problems and weaknesses received from inspections, audits, administrative reviews, residents and/or responsible persons, staff, and other parties; plans and/or executes appropriate corrective/preventative action, and reports plans and actions to the Administrator.

Directs, develops, administers, maintains, reviews, assesses, and as necessary, revises a comprehensive written plan of care for each resident.

Performs administrative duties including maintenance of written Nursing Services policies, procedures, job description, reference library of nursing material, quality assurance program, and organizational structure.

Completes various medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charts, and other documents as necessary.

Performs direct nursing care and other duties of Nursing Services employees when necessary.

Qualifications:Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, 3 years experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care, or related facility with at least 100 beds.
